Separation of School and State

Families Figure Out That Teachers’ Unions Prioritize Their Own Agendas over that of Children and Families

A story in the Sacramento Bee,” ‘Breaking point.’ Families fleeing Sacramento-area public schools as campuses stay closed,” reveals yet more evidence that teachers’ unions care less about the needs of the children they are supposed to serve than their own agendas.

Parents have struggled for a year to figure out how to both care for and educate their children while public schools have often provided unworkable or inadequate educational solutions. Many parents have given up in frustration and have enrolled their children in private schools that have managed to teach in person while public school campuses remain closed.

For many families this is an expensive choice. For families who can’t afford options other than public school, their children are largely left behind.
